November 13, 2014

It was not long ago that our site here on the west side of Brookings was nothing more than a collection of brome grass and kosher weeds growing adjacent to the old Rosewood trailer park.  That was October 2012 and you could say things have changed a bit!

Where abandoned trailer houses setting beneath large overgrown trees used to sit to the north, there are now six new apartment buildings! To the east, there used to be a quonset owned by a former excavation contractor, in the Spring of 2014 all that changed as well as Fusion Development purchased the land and is now building beautiful town homes.   It's been impressive seeing how quickly the structures have grown!

As for us?  Well, we've been easily the most humble of all the development as I've just been thrilled to bring the 1.5 acre site up above flood-grade, gravel it, and erect 3500 sq ft of greenhouse growing space; and now the real fun is about to begin!  So while we may not have the budget or the crews to put up fancy apartments or town homes, we DO have the expertise to grow some of the hardiest, most eye-catching perennials and shrubs locally right here in Brookings.  We are a few months away from opening our doors and welcoming you in, but know that we are hard at work growing, not buildings made from lumber and concrete, but living ornamentals created with soil, water, and seed.

Stay warm friends, we will see you this spring.
